New Retained Knights from The Ion Age

by Chris

The Ion Age returns to its roots this week - with an all-new pack of Retained Knights for the Prydian Army.

Retained Post Charlie brings us the first new Retained Knight poses we've seen in...well... quite some time! The pack includes ten unique poses - one Knight Commander, five Knights with Moth and Angis rifles, two Knights with Anvil missile launchers, and two Knights with Tumbler SMGs. The pack is available for £5.00, or the figures are available as single castings.

I've always been a fan of the Retained figures. The unadorned appearance of their armor makes it easy to imagine their character - they fight not for personal gain, but for what they believe to be a noble cause. Gavin Syme has an article on the Ion Age blog about their role in the official universe. It's a great read - very inspiring, even if you aren't going to set your own campaigns in the Ion Age.

  1. Thanks Chris!

It has indeed been a long time since the last new Retained Knights took to the field but Sam Croes has done the Ion Age proud and these fellows are spot on.

While I am here, thanks once again to all Dropship Fans who have had the faith in us to place orders on our website we will keep the new releases coming every week!

  4. I know. Why not change the name to "We blatantly sell 15mm Co products to the virtual exclusivity of any other manufacturer except occasionally Rebel and what ever else the contributors happen to be financially connected to? More than 25% of all posts this year have been flogging one or other of this range. Which I loathe personally. What happened to balance and a fair representation of everything going on in a growing 15mm Sci Fi market? Wasn't that was what this site was all about?

    1. We're happy to put up news about whatever we can, do you have anything in particular you'd like to see more of?

  5. While I will respect that you may not like the Ion Age stuff, there are plenty who do and who are happy that it is returning in force. While this may have accounted for a fair number of the recent posts, it is a far cry from the 25% of the total posts for this year.

Dropship Horizon does its best to hit on as many ranges as it can, but as nobody here is a full miniatures new authority, it is impossible for us to cover everything that comes out.

I think this might be a good time to mention that Dropship Horizon is very much open to submissions and contributions from outside the "crew". As mentioned above, we can't cover everything in the boom that is 15mm scifi but certainly are open to any help we can get.

    Sincerely,

    -Eli

    1. Eli, I counted them. You should do the same. You are in grave danger of becoming one trick ponies at the expense of the purpose of this site. And just to re-iterate my point, tonights fresh posts are 15mm, Rebel and just to balance up just a little something from Micro Panzer. A range is re-launched. We get it. You don't have to post something on every single release which is mostly a rehash of ancient lines. Interested people can update themselves. I suspect lots of people who do agree have just not bothered to comment but possibly gone elsewhere. Why don't you invite comments to check?

  6. Respectfully, DH posts stories of interest to its writers as much as it does for the readers. We are hobbyists, not journalists.

  7. For the record, I see nothing wrong with the news coverage here. Indeed, it's nice that you don't have to be a paid advertiser to submit news stories here. Blastwall would be better served to send in those stories than to pointlessly complain about whatever it is he isn't seeing here.
